Your responsibility related to ongoing monthly payments.
We like to do our best wherever possible if you need help paying your rent, for example by requesting to use our international bank transfer system or by using our credit card facilities. However, please bear in mind that late rent payments are not tolerated by landlords in Sao Paulo, and ultimately the responsibility for punctual rent payment lies with the tenant.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your rental payment arrives to the landlord on time.
Fines can apply in the case of late rent payments. Read more about this in our Wiki article on late rent payment. This is defined according to your contract, so please carefully read your contract and note the fines that can apply in the case of late rent payments.
We are happy to help our customers whenever we can by offering the use of our international bank transfer and credit card facilities as a gesture of goodwill.
If you wish to use our credit card facilities or international bank transfer to pay your rent, please contact us a minimum of 48 hours before the due date.
Please bear in mind that it is up to you to ensure that the payment has arrived, even if you are using our payment facilities.
We strongly advise you not to make direct international bank transfers to a Brazilian bank account from an overseas bank account. We recommend paying rent in cash or by local transfer from a Brazilian account. Otherwise, please contact us and we can offer you use of our international transfer facilities.
In the case of typographical errors, mistaken numbers, misspelled names and other issues causing the payment to be prevented from coming through, please be aware that legally it is your responsibility to ensure that your rent has been paid. Any delays or issues with payments, whether you pay the landlord directly or use our facilities, the responsibility for timely arrival of the funds as well as liability for any carriers’ chargers lie with the tenant.
If you are using our facilities every month for your rent payment, please remember to check with us each month before the rent due date that the payment has arrived. If not, and if your payment does not come through for any reason, a late payment penalty will apply.
Please be aware that all payment methods other than cash and local transfer are subject to carriers’ fees. These fees are the customer’s responsibility and the transfer amount should be calculated in order to account for these fees.
